[ She’s been relaxing, and has refused to move from the spot on her couch for anything or anyone. There is one thing for sure; she will not be moved. MJ has a ragged old blanket wrapped around her, but aside from that the only thing she has covering her is an oversized t-shirt and a pair of shorts that are too short but it’s not like she’s expecting company anyway, and her eyes never once leave the television.
What pulls MJ from her Doctor Who marathon is a knock… make that two knocks on her apartment door. And here she thought she’d be able to relax and avoid everyone in peace. ]
”I’m coming!”
[ She swings her legs over the edge of the couch and quickly pries herself from the soft cushions before almost sprinting to the door, almost tripping a few times in the process. She reaches the door knob and pulls it open quickly, surprised as to who was in front of her and the condition he was in. Her jaw falls open and she gestures for him to come inside. ]
“What happened? Come inside.
[ She holds the door open for him and steps to the side so he can enter her apartment. ]
..oh my god.”
[ Is it that bad?
He knows he’s in a frazzled state – he’s kind of sweating, for one, and the sunlight makes his pupils go all big and weird, and he’s just not as neat and finicky as he usually is. Besides that, though, surely he looks just the same. He’s never seen himself near death, but it can’t look anything like this.
It could be because he’s mumbling expeditiously to himself as he walks in without another greeting, and the first thing he does when he gets inside is unbutton his shirt. And Christ, that feels good. ]
“It’s been four –– no, five hours. Twenty-four minus … that’s nineteen. Nineteen hours. How much can I get done in nineteen hours? Are there sedatives that last that long?”
[ He should clarify. But he doesn’t, because the only thing his subconscious really wants to gravitate towards is blood, blood, blood, blood, more blood. It’s bound to overtake his personal initiatives soon enough. That’s why he’s got to prioritize. ]
